It's No Illusion, Mirage Wins 5 of 7 to win NOOD

19 J/105s signed up for the Annapolis NOOD, a regatta that completed a marathon of five races on the first day - a day marked by a gusty 15-20 kt westerly that left crews exhausted. Crews recovered during Day 2 which saw winds never eclipse 4 kts - and thus no races started. Day 3 exceeded light forecast expectations with a solid 7-10 kts out of the north.

Mirage - skippered by Fredrik Salvesen and Cedric Lewis - had a less than auspicious start on the first day - with a 9th place finish in the first race (won by Ben Dupont's Ctrl Alt Del). However, they had plenty of race opportunity to recover - winning three of the remaining four races of the day, with Andrew Kennedy's Bat IV taking first in the other.

Mirage handily won the first race on Day 3 and managed to stave off Ctrl Alt Del in the event's final race. Bat IV took 2nd place overall honors, barely edging out third place Carl and Scott Gitchell's Tenacious by a point.
